!GENERAL:Emigrated to the United States on the Ringfield arriving in New
Orleans on the 16th March 1848 before moving to Quincy in Illinois. A carpenter
who continued to live in Quincy and who was employed as a builder.
He saw service in the US Civil War and enlisted Quincy on 13 Aug 1863, when he
was 5'6" brown hair, hazel eyes, dark complexion. Mustered in 7 Oct 1862 with
Company A 119th Infantry and mustered out 18 May 1865 at Memphis with the rank
of Corporal.
